Tree of Life
The Emergency Food Bank Tree of Life is located in the Thomas F. Wilson Nutrition Education Center, and ideally positioned in the main hallway of the building, highly visible to our visitors. You, your family or your business will have your name permanently imprinted and prominently displayed on a leaf, apple or monarch butterfly when you become a member of the Tree of Life.

Qualified Charitable Contributions
Charitable inclined individuals age 70.5 have a tax-savvy strategy called Qualified Charibale Distribution (QCD). This enables tie IRA owner to instruct the custodian of their IRA to send payments directly from the IRA to a charity such as the Emergency Food Bank. In this approach the IRA owner can satisfy the annual RMD requirements and avoid the taxable income associated with the RMD. Please contact your IRA adminstrator, tax, or financial advisor to explore the venefits of a QCD.

A dedicated Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) gives you a simple way to make tax-smart contributions,invested into an account for potential growth that's tax free, all while contributing to the mission of the Food Bank.
Working with our dedicated locatl fanancial advisor, you can establish a professionally managed investment account on behalf of the Food Ban, that has growth potential and valuable income and estated tax advantages.
Donor Advised Fund – How it works.

Donors open an account with contributions of cash, securities, or other assets. Contributions are irrevocable and tax-deductible. When appreciated non-cash assets held for a year or more are contributed to a donor-advised fund account, they are typically not subject to capital gains taxes when they are sold

To maximize the tax-free growth potential of donors’ charitable assets, our advisor offers a range of investment investment management options tailored to your risk, tax and time preferences.

Donors grants the funds to the Food Bank charity with any level of privacy or recognition. Working with recognized national custodians, the advisor then issues the grant and consolidates records. From there, you will work with our advisor to manage the account on behalf of the Food Bank.
